We approach the migration task with 4 steps process to make it 100% successful:

1. Pre-migration Analysis

A complete SharePoint site survey will be taken under analysis, which will provide all the lists, libraries, pages, custom solutions, users, and features activated list.

With this, all the custom solutions risk pruning features and any custom web parts will be evaluated. Will check with the business team that the custom functionality of the Webparts, timer jobs, and pages will be discussed to create a replacement implementation strategy.

If those custom functionalities are critical, we pave the replacement planning and implementation on a separate track. That will be taken in parallel to the migration.

2. Migration Planning

This is a very critical stage and identification of key components such as orphaned users, security groups, and navigation menus. Yes, even navigation menus are important to account for and observe. A quick assessment of the migration contents and the approx time required to complete the migration process will be calculated.

2 cycles of dry runs will be planned to ensure the process is smooth and contents are migrated properly without any issues. Here comes RMM, we have bundles of scripts and tools to check the migration quality and content availability. Even in the case of some discrepancies, our correction script will handle those missing parts independently without re-running the migration again. This saves time and gives assurance!

3. Migration Execution

After step 2, production migration will be started with a motto of minimal downtime to users, and various strategies are suggested. Based on the comfortability, choose to go with

4. Post Migration Setup

After the complete migration, ensure our support to monitor any issues reported on the new site. Our support team will work on those issues on Rapid -Recovery basis to fix and make content available to users.
